Monday nights from 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm, beginning August 18

The Bedford Fire Department offers an opportunity for citizens that live or work in the city to learn more about their fire department. The Citizen's Fire Academy is offered twice a year and meets one evening per week for ten weeks. More than twenty informative topics will be instructed by firefighters, with some hands-on activities allowing the recruit opportunities to experience the firefighter's job. During and after completion of the class, the recruit will be allowed to ride-out with the firefighters during emergency calls. Recruits must be at least 18 years old and either live or work in Bedford in order to attend the Academy. The tuition is free. The recruit must attend at least eight classes to graduate.
